LAW AND DISORDER!

Read Ms. Jagjit's novel Dreams of One Country (Amazon): A never-before love inspired campaign lights India's dawn as an elite modern nation!

LAW AND DISORDER!
At that time India's Supreme Court had ordered that, based on the results of the Common Entrance Test for entrance to medical and engineering colleges conducted by any state, 30% of the seats be reserved for students from other Indian states. My daughter appeared for the test in the state where we were living after moving from Bombay. She came in the top 300 and was eligible for a seat. However, at seat allocation we were told she had done her undergrad in another state and therefore would not get a seat. They were directly flouting a Supreme Court order. So she went for the CET in another state. Again she did well. And again that state refused her a seat. After that she decided she did not want to join medical college. She would graduate and then seek admission in an American university.
She did just that and did so well in her GRE, TOEFL and SAT that she got admission with a full scholarship in Purdue Uinversity, Indiana.
The big questions are:
How could those Indian universities get away ignoring the highest court in the land?
Where is a country headed if authorities can get away with flouting the highest court's orders?

Army Ants: The Bravest of the Brave!

Army Ants: The Bravest of the Brave!

Here and there - in the kitchen, bathroom and elsewhere - you'll see a single, small dull black ant going back and forth - seemingly aimless.  It's not aimless. It's the army ant - on a mission, a reconnaissance mission for his compatriots. He is looking for safe areas where food (esp. sugar) is available. And once he goes back with his report, the ant battalions will march in, an orderly line of them, heading for the area recommended by the brave army ant. The army ant risks his life for his brothers and sisters! I know. because I squash them on sight!

WHY BIRDS GIVE UP TWITTERING!!!

WHY BIRDS GIVE UP TWITTERING!!!

Twittering came naturally to birds. Part of their lifestyle! It was always a united sharing of high-spirits, the joy of being alive, of seeing another day! By twittering they spread happiness through the clan!

Then humans got into the act. And man began twittering all kinds of messages, too often spreading neither high spirits nor joy. Too often spreading the opposites of high spirits and good natured rejoicing!

Since man took over twittering in his own style, the birds are giving up! All they can do now is watch man in aghast silence!
Sad, sad birds!

The Great Gadget-O-Comedy!

The Great Gadget-O-Comedy!

The great thing about modern technology is that year by year it keeps on providing us more and innovative gadgets or techniques - that make it easier and easier for us to waste our time (even up to ten hours a day) while pretending we are doing something useful..simultaneously making the innovator richer and richer. Today's blissful tech world!
Wouldn't it be much better to use the time to read a good book? Ha! Ha! Like Dreams of One Country, Ms Jagjit Daniel's MovieScopic India Novel. The book - which my wife Jagjit and I worked on together - tells how a Love-lit youth campaign inspires India's transformation, launching the country's ascent to join the world's progressive nations. The book is now available for Print Copy delivered to you by Amazon - apart from e-download. Seriously, friends!
